THE AW MOVEMENT METHOD

Movement that MOVES you.

MY APPROACH

Be MOVED by your movement practice. Movement is a tool to help you feel amazing in your body, to give you energy, to transform how you feel, and to deepen your relationship with yourself. Movement doesn’t need to be something you check off your to-do list, or struggle with on a consistent basis. When you find movement styles that feel good and resonate with you, a movement practice can transform your life.

My belief is that a multi-disciplinary approach to movement is the best way to build a consistent routine that you look forward to! So instead of focusing on one style of movement and trying to get everything we need from it, my method involves a variety of movement modalities to address your physical training needs.

My method weaves together:
resistance training + pilates + yoga

Central to my approach is creating a sound relationship to the deep physical core and our breath, so that we can tap into strength and ease from the deepest layers outward.

Another important cornerstone of the AW Movement Method is sustainability. My classes will challenge you, but they will also leave you feeling energized, grounded, steady, and easeful. I’ve designed them so that you can move on a regular basis without feeling exhausted, burnt out, and overly sore.

I believe that a little of something done consistently is incredibly powerful. Tune into your body’s wisdom and listen to what it needs. When you start moving from a connected place you’ll notice that even short practices are highly impactful.

Simplicity prevents overwhelm & provides the framework for success.

Less is truly more, and this is a principle that is key in the AW Movement Method. When you have a million options you are often left unsure of what classes and teachers to take. My approach is streamlined - I take the guesswork out of what to do and when to do it. Whether you follow the weekly schedule, or craft your own, it’s incredibly simple to plan out your week with the AW Movement On-Demand Library.

What People Are Saying

Amanda is hands down my favorite yoga teacher ever. I have had two back surgeries, so not only is it essential for me to work on my core strength but my flexibility as well. Amanda's classes are not just your average yoga class; they are all-encompassing, from stretching to core work to mental & emotional health. She is there to gently push you to do what is best for you that day, always offering multiple ways to do a pose, This is so helpful for me because I can't always do a pose perfectly, but I never feel pressured to adjust in a way that I might regret the next day. Her positive and kind energy is infectious, and after a long day, there is no better way to unwind than to roll out my mat and take one of Amanda's classes on Zoom.

Prior to starting Amanda’s integration series, I was looking for a consistent way to practice yoga at home with a knowledgeable instructor. This program did just that! Amanda’s expertise in alignment, integration, and mindful movement made me feel connected, strong, and grounded in each posture. Her flows are creative and unique, keeping things interesting while never jeopardizing pose integrity. Her cues help me expand my practice, challenging me to explore my body and mind’s abilities, leaving me feeling empowered throughout the flow. Her kindness and calm demeanor are supportive and encouraging, crafting an inclusive environment to make me look forward to getting back on my mat!

Amanda has taught me to trust my body, my mind, and my strength. I personally have not maintained my fitness in years and knew it was time to better my health not just for me, but for my family. The day of our first class, my anxiety was on edge and I had a growing pit in my stomach and wanted to cancel, but I powered through her class. Not only did Amanda show modifications for my body/ size/ abilities, she made me feel confident and has shown me that I CAN do this. After every class my mind is clear, my body feels taller, and I feel such comfort and happiness for the effort I put into myself. Amanda is not only a wonderful yoga instructor, but someone who puts your mind and body at peace.
